We have a wonderful resource in our area. It was an old farm for about 200 years ago and the entire complex was donated to the local historical society. It’s been kept up and the run many different events throughout the year.
At Christmas they do a lantern tour. a group of people take actual old fashioned lanterns and go to each house. There, actors portray a scene about life at Christmas time in the early to mid 1800’s. It’s cute and fun for the family.
The best part was the house of Ebenezer Scrooge. This is supposed to be Ebenezer after his visits and he’s a changed man. BUT – his ghost friend Marley visits and they talk with the visitors about Christmas. The costumes look great and the actors were very fun. It’s a living bit of Christmas and very fun.
If in the Akron, Oh area at Christmas, look up the Lantern Light tour at Hale Farm and Village.
